About this place
Step onto the 28th-floor lobby level of Conrad Tokyo, and the soaring ceilings open out onto a sweeping panorama of the Hamarikyu Gardens and Tokyo Bay. During the afternoon, the lounge is defined by its popular seasonal afternoon tea, which rotates through creative themes throughout the year. Rather than arriving on a conventional multi-tiered stand, the delicate pastries and savouries are arranged across a flat glass plate, creating a vibrant presentation that is simple to portion and admire the moment it is served.
The spread pairs classic plain scones with seasonal variations alongside clotted cream and jam, served alongside an array of finely crafted bites. An expansive tea collection lets guests explore everything from the hotel's house blends, such as Queen of Cherry, to single-estate black teas including Darjeeling, as well as soothing caffeine-free herbal infusions.
As twilight settles over the capital, the lounge shifts into a moody bar framed by an artistic display of spirits bottles. Cocktails feature Japanese spirits and aromatics, including the Hinoki Martini—a twist on the vodka martini blending rice shochu and fragrant Japanese cypress—alongside the Champagne Lemon Sour, which unites shochu and sake with bubbles, and the Tokyo Sour, crafted with local craft gin, honey, and yuzu.
Bar snacks complement the drinks menu, offering nibbles such as truffle-salted edamame beans and nori french fries served with mentaiko mayonnaise, alongside hearty choices such as a wagyu beef cutlet sandwich. With the illuminated expanse of Tokyo Bay and the Rainbow Bridge outside, and live music drifting through the room on select evenings, the space provides an unhurried perch high above the city.
